The Purnea Airport Interim Terminal was developed to provide essential passenger facilities for the region until a permanent terminal could be completed. The project demanded rapid mobilization, disciplined coordination and a construction strategy capable of converting a remote agricultural site into an operational airport facility.
The site was surrounded by agricultural land, with narrow approach roads, limited local material availability and existing ground levels significantly below the required formation level. Monsoon-related delays and machinery movement risks added further pressure to an already compressed schedule.
A parallel execution method was adopted across civil works, MEP services, interiors and PEB steel fabrication. While site teams progressed readiness works, steel components were manufactured in-house at Kanpur and dispatched through planned logistics cycles.
